Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.

THIS LAST ONE BY SOCRATES IS INTERESTING: Because even back in Socrates’ time (469-399 B.C.E.) adults complained of the disrespectfulness of the young. In fact human nature has not changed since the beginning of mankind. Nothing is different. The young people today as young people did through the history of mankind are just going through the normal phases of human development.
