Worldly Intoxicants

The three worldly intoxicants are

Possessions – Power – Pleasure

or

Money – Power – Sex

There is nothing wrong with making a good honest wage, exerting positive personal power to assist humanity or enjoying yourself; but in order to have peace during your moments of self-reflection you need to keep things in perspective.

Over indulgence of any of the above three worldly intoxicants can throw a person out of balance.

How to determine if someone including you is over indulging in the three worldly intoxicants of:  Possessions – Power – Pleasure.

The over indulger will talk negatively about other people behind their backs.

Unless you are reporting a crime act or objectively notifying authorities of a person with a perceived dysfunction: Do not talk negatively behind other people’s backs.

Talking negatively behind backs: When people are talking negatively behind other people’s backs they are actually talking about themselves. The negative gossipers are putting other people down in an attempt to feel better about themselves & their wrong doings. (The negative gossiper’s motto goes something like this: “they are worse than me, so that makes me better than them”). To alleviate some of life’s stresses never talk negatively behind another person’s back. To do so (talking behind backs) is an exercise in self destruction. DON’T do it.

Fill your time with positive activities: exercise, school, employment, community service etc.

If you don’t have something good to say about someone than don’t say it.

The exception is when a child needs to inform a parent if their intuition tells them that a person makes them feel uncomfortable or has some evil intent. Children need to have the time to speak freely.
