The rule of opposites: if you choose to live an unselfish life serving humanity, that is a personal decision. But you must also respect other people’s choice to live in their own way as long as they are not imposing harm, coercion, or lawlessness on others. Everyone has a right to follow their own conscience.
If you begin to believe that you are better, greater, or holier than other people because you are serving humanity, then you are no longer walking in wisdom. You have moved from service into self-importance, and that is the beginning of decline.
Serve others positively because it is simply the right thing to do. Do not serve to be seen, praised, elevated, or admired. Real character does not seek attention, status, or superiority. It seeks usefulness, integrity, and humility.
Free your mind. Do not get caught up in spiritual pride. This is one of the greatest character flaws of all, because it disguises itself as morality while quietly feeding ego.
The most mature people are not the ones who feel superior to others; they are the ones who can serve without vanity, lead without domination, and remain grounded while doing good.
“If your service becomes a source of pride, it has stopped being service and started becoming a trap.”— MOTSHAC
